What is EcoMan?

This was recognized by private individuals, and co-working centers began to spring up in our city. However, the Ecological Association “Zeleni Sad” recognized the need to build a unique and innovative type of co-working center, which will have a minimal impact on the environment. With that, a unique “Green co-working center” was established.

EcoMan is an ecological and sports manifestation that aims to actively encourage the community to clean, collect and sort waste in an interesting way, through ecology and sports.

Within the race, three disciplines are planned:

• Running with waste collection
• Riding bicycles with waste transport
• Waste separation

Based on this, a group competition was created where it is necessary to have a member for each discipline. The association recognized that group work is a key element in many spheres of life, including education, the business world, and social activities. Through group work, individuals have the opportunity to develop interpersonal skills, such as communication, cooperation and problem solving, which are crucial for success in both education and the professional world. Also, they will have the opportunity to recognize what they are good at, and if they are in sports-professional development, this will serve as a turning point for further progress.

EcoMan was organized for the first time in 2022, the same practice continued in 2023. The project was approved by the Provincial Secretariat for Sports and Youth, and last year’s sponsors were Decathlon, CocaCola, EcoStar Pak, Invictus.

The starting point of the race was in front of the main entrance of the Strand, at the interchange for bus lines 1 and 8. The running participants had a free zone through the local communities of Liman 2, 3 and 4 to the second point at the interchange of line 4. where the cyclists were waiting to collect the collected waste After that, at the finishing point, which is located on Boulevard Europa, the sorting members are waiting and that’s how the race ends.

The goal is to collect as much waste as possible in the shortest possible time. This means that the winner will not be the fastest with little waste or vice versa.
